Vintage Bride

Vintage Bride was established a portal for those seeking inspiration and advice when planning a vintage, unique or  hand crafted wedding – something that wouldn’t feature a white chair covers with shiny sashes or any of the other uninspiring, generic elements that can be found when trying to plan your big day.

To help spread their love of all things vintage and creative, Vintage Bride have an inspirational wedding magazine which is in a neat handbag size so that brides all over Australia can flick through the pages of styled shoots, helpful advice and real weddings wherever they may be! (This was previously titled The Vintage and Handmade Bride)

In addition to the magazine, Vintage Bride also offer boutique wedding fairs throughout the year, both in Brisbane and also select major cities nationwide.  At these events couples have the opportunity to meet a bunch of our awesome wedding vendors under the one roof.

We are also very proud to offer the most comprehensive Australian wedding directory for those planning a vintage or eclectic wedding!!

Beatrix is a tiny bakery in North Melbourne opened in 2011 run by Nat Paull and her killer cake squad who are dedicated to baking great cakes from good things for you. We are faithful to seasonal produce sourced from farmers markets, growers and hands on producers. We are about doing what we do best with no frou frou but just the kind of cakes that taste wonderful. Our recipes are drawn from Nat’s extensive pastry chef experience, a crazy amount of cookbooks and nostalgic favourites. We have a rare ability to meld the traditional pillars of cake baking with with our own brand of irreverent innovation.

Nat’s career was sparked at the age of seven after baking a buttercake for her mother. She eschewed Dolly Magazine for food magazines and earned her industry stripes under foodsmiths Maggie Beer, Greg Malouf and Stephanie Alexander. Nat started Little Bertha Bakery (wholesale) in 2005 which was sold in 2008 to make way for Beatrix.

As a child obsessed with music videos during the 1990’s and later developing a fascination with old Hollywood film stars, Gemma was always the one people called on for hair or makeup advice ahead of a party or special occasion.

Over a decade later she decided to act on her dream of helping the world to look its best, and, having already built a word-of-mouth client base over two years specialising in vintage and burlesque hair and makeup, she decided to go pro.

Studying cosmetic makeup at Bath College in England was the next step in her creative and professional development, and even before she had graduated, job offers for modern beauty work began to come in.

Now living back in Melbourne, Australia after eight years in the UK, Gemma is focusing on bridal, debutante and editorial beauty work.

A makeup addict is always trying new products but some of Gemma’s favourite makeup brands include Dior, Urban Decay, Max Factor, Ardell, Belletto, Clarins, Dermablend, Sigma, Kevyn Aucoin and of course, MAC!
